Guests need to be capable of walking four kilometres through bush land and over uneven ground in the Kimberley warmth. The weather will average 28 to 32 degrees every day. The walks include dry riverbeds and gorges where large rocks move underfoot, so stability is essential. Many of the walks include stepping up and climbing down into and out of riverbeds, at times clambering over and around rocks. We ask that you be healthy, active and be able to walk a few kilometres at a time.

Adventure Wild Kimberley Tours provide all-inclusive, guided camping tours of the Kimberley region, north-west Western Australia. The Kimberley is twice the size of Victoria covering approximately 243,000 square kilometres. The route we travel is approximately 2800 km’s over 12 days. The Gibb River Road and the access track into the Bungle Bungles are both corrugated roads, at times requiring 4WD. Our vehicles stop regularly usually every hour on the rough roads.
We provide two guides, a mature aged married couple on each tour and have a maximum of 16 guests, offering a service ratio of 1:8.
Adventure Wild Kimberley Tours have permanent campsites where our tents are set up and await your arrival on 10 out of 11 nights. On the first night we are required to set-up and pull-down our tents, as we stay in a National Park where permanent camps are not allowed. We have four two-night stays and there are toilets and showers at each campsite. The tents are spacious, however, bathroom facilities are a short walk through the campground for access to toilets and showers. Not all campsites are powered and guests are required to use headlamps and torches at night and be able to navigate their way from the bathroom, to and from our camps, where 13 tents are identical and all grouped together.
Our camping tours are hands-on, where our guests are asked to roll their own swag (a bedroll enveloped in canvas for travel); assist with camp set-up, including placing chairs around the campfire and setting up dining tables and seats. Dishes and assisting with loading and unloading the vehicle are also a part of tour activities.
Hiking to, exploring and swimming in remote gorges and natural landscapes are daily activities on tour. A reasonable level of fitness is required to hike into the spectacular gorges and other interesting places we visit. Guests need to be capable of walking 3-4 kilometres through bushland and over uneven ground in the Kimberley warmth. The weather will average 28 to 32 degrees every day. To achieve the best value of money, we recommend guests being able to participate in the majority of walks; have no issue stepping up and down into our large 4WD trucks and sleeping on a swag on the floor of the tent. Stretchers are available for hire and there is a small stool to assist bracing yourself getting up from ground level, if required.
