Assistance animals are permitted in most public areas of the Park, and staff can provide support with accessible routes, facilities, rest areas, and drinking water locations. To protect the welfare of the Park’s native wildlife and conservation species, some areas may have specific access conditions or restrictions, and alternative viewing arrangements may be available where required. The Visitor Services check-in counter is located within the cafe area with plenty of seating available. Seating is available throughout the park including at the train stations, exhibits and pathways.

Visitors can plan their visit using the Territory Wildlife Park website and interactive digital map, which provide information on exhibits, visitor facilities, accessibility features, daily presentations, and park navigation. Upon arrival, guests are welcomed at the Visitor Services precinct, where the ticketing and information counter is located. Friendly Visitor Services staff are available to assist visitors in planning their day. Staff can provide guidance on daily presentations, shuttle train services, exhibit locations, accessibility features, and suggested itineraries to help guests make the most of their visit. Seating is available throughout the park, including at shuttle train stations, exhibit areas, picnic spaces, and along key pathways. A free shuttle train operates throughout the day, allowing visitors to travel between major attractions at their own pace.

There are three main indoor visitor areas at the Territory Wildlife Park that provide air-conditioned comfort for guests: Visitor Services/Café Area – an air-conditioned space located near the entrance where visitors can access information, purchase refreshments, and take a break. Aquarium – a fully enclosed, air-conditioned exhibit showcasing the diverse aquatic wildlife of Northern Australia. Visitors should be aware that there are several areas within the aquarium that feature angled or sloping flooring, which may require additional care when navigating the exhibit. Nocturnal House – an air-conditioned indoor exhibit featuring nocturnal animal species. Lighting within this area is intentionally kept very dim to replicate nighttime conditions and encourage natural animal behaviour, allowing visitors to observe species that are typically active after dark. Please note that the low-light environment in the Nocturnal House is an essential component of the exhibit design and may impact visitors with vision impairments or those transitioning from bright outdoor conditions. The angled flooring in parts of the Aquarium may also present challenges for some visitors with mobility, balance, or vision impairments.

The Aquarium is an indoor, air-conditioned exhibit and includes several areas with ramps and inclined or declined flooring that connect the various display levels and viewing spaces. The Monsoon Forest is an outdoor boardwalk experience featuring a number of walk-through bird aviaries. Visitors may encounter ramps and gentle gradients throughout this area. At the end of the boardwalk is a self-guided dome aviary, where the pathway gradually winds down to ground level, allowing visitors to move through the exhibit while enjoying an immersive wildlife experience. Visitors using wheelchairs, mobility aids, or those requiring additional support should allow extra time when navigating these areas due to the presence of slopes and changing gradients.
